March to November

Spring, summer, autumn. A different Tuscany every time.

The curves stay the same. The light doesn't.

In spring everything is green, the air still crisp, and you have the roads almost to yourself. In summer you set off early, put your feet up at midday and ride into the golden light in the evening. In autumn the grapes come in, the vineyards change colour, and the SR222 goes quiet.

You always book online. In March and November I'm only on site when there's a booking, so just dropping by won't work.

No city stress. Just you, the road and a little more freedom than planned.

Your Ride

What kind of Tuscany ride are you looking for?

Whether you're an experienced rider, a curious traveller or a relaxed Chianti explorer: at Motezza it isn't about faster, bigger, louder, but about the ride that suits Tuscany.

For experienced riders

Less horsepower, more road

At home you might ride a BMW GS, a Ducati or a KTM. In Tuscany you don't need 150 horsepower for a great day. The Classic 350 is a deliberate choice: lighter, calmer, more honest. Just right for narrow roads and tight bends.

Why the Classic 350?
For Chianti explorers

Right where it gets good

No city traffic, no detours. At Motezza you set off right in Greve in Chianti, where the good roads actually begin. Ideal for a day trip, a weekend or a relaxed ride between vineyards and villages.

For anyone taking it slow

Feel Tuscany, don't tick it off

You don't want to tick Tuscany off, you want to feel it. No rushed sightseeing, no long motorway stretches, but small roads, spontaneous stops, cafés and exactly the pace that makes the day good.

For couples and holidaymakers

Riding two-up

A day on two wheels is a different day when you ride two-up. The Royal Enfield carries two without effort, and the second helmet is included. Tuscany delivers the rest: the light, the small villages, the bends of the SR222 you'll still be talking about that evening.

Different roads, different rules: ZTL restricted zones in the towns, speed limits, narrow mountain roads and the Italian way of driving. Knowing this beforehand makes for a calmer ride. Our guide has the essentials in short form.

Frequently asked questions

Licence, deposit, prices

Any questions? Feel free to send me a quick message.

Which motorcycle can I rent from you?

You rent the Royal Enfield Classic 350 from me, a classic motorcycle with modern engineering, ideal for quiet tours through Tuscany. Light and reliable, made for the winding roads of Chianti. Not a race machine, but your companion on the road.

Is the Classic 350 a single-seater?

Not necessarily, even if the factory photos suggest it. Royal Enfield mostly shows the Classic 350 with a single seat. With me you choose during booking how your motorcycle is set up: single-seater, two-seater or single-seater with a luggage rack.

As a two-seater, the Classic 350 is approved for two people, and the pillion seat is comfortable. The upright riding position suits long days in Chianti, and the second helmet is included in the rental price.

What's included in the price, and how does the deposit work?

The rental price includes two helmets, a phone mount, unlimited mileage and the statutory liability insurance. Petrol is on you.

You can pay the rent however you like: in cash or by card. Prepaid and debit cards are accepted just like credit cards.

There is an exception regarding the deposit. It is €800 per motorcycle and must be paid upon pickup, either in cash or by credit card. I accept Mastercard, Visa, and American Express, provided the card is issued in your name. Prepaid and debit cards cannot be used for the security deposit because no amount can be pre-authorized on them. If you do not have a credit card, please pay the security deposit in cash. You will receive a full refund upon return of the motorcycle in undamaged condition.

What insurance is included?

Every motorcycle has liability insurance. It covers damage you cause to others. I don't offer comprehensive cover for the motorcycle itself: damage to the motorcycle is deducted from the security deposit, and any costs beyond that are yours.

That’s why we recommend checking before your trip whether your credit card or a separate deductible insurance policy covers the security deposit for rental vehicles. Some cards exclude motorcycles, but you can find out in five minutes.

Can I cancel free of charge?

You pay 15% of the rental price on booking, the rest on pickup. If you cancel up to 10 days before the rental starts, you get the deposit back in full.

Between 10 days and 48 hours before the rental starts, I keep the deposit as a cancellation fee. If you cancel less than 48 hours beforehand or don't show up, the full rental price is due. The complete rules are in the GTCs.

Where is Motezza based?

Motezza Rent A Classic is based in Greve in Chianti, roughly halfway between Florence and Siena. From here you set off straight onto the winding country roads of the Chianti Classico, with no big-city traffic.

How do I book my motorcycle in Tuscany?

The easiest way is to book directly through the online form on my website. There you see available dates and prices, and complete your reservation in a few steps. For special requests or questions, you can reach me any time by email or WhatsApp.

Do you also offer route suggestions or guided rides?

On request you get route suggestions from me, GPX tracks and tips on viewpoints, small cafés and stops worth making in Chianti. You ride freely and at your own pace, but with local experience behind you. If you like, I'll come along myself: my Tour Escort, a small group and none of the coach-tour feeling.
